Truth be told, I am not a huge football fanatic.

But, like over 111 million others in the US, I watched Super Bowl LI.
It turned out to be an incredible game, as well as an incredible lesson in life.

If you happened to miss it, the Patriots were down 28-3 in the fourth quarter. And then they had a comeback of a lifetime, eventually winning in overtime.
According to ESPN, there were 20 times during the course of the game that the Atlanta Falcons had a 99 percent or better chance of winning.

And yet, they did not.
Regardless if you are happy about the outcome (or even care), this is a great lesson for us all.

Anything.

Is.

Possible.

The key is not giving up.
It would have been easy for the Patriots to think “It is over. There is no way we can win now.”

Funny thing is, if they had thought that, they would have been right.
That is the power of the mind.
This is a great reminder to us all:
99 percent probability does not make it 100 percent definite.
Until the ultimate end, there is always a way to make things happen.
So, what dream have you given up on because you thought it was impossible?
Maybe it is time to rethink that conviction.
Life is not always easy. But, if we take a step back, we will realize that is actually a good thing.
Life isn’t perfect. But it can be better than perfect if we let it be.
Here’s the thing: If everything was easy in your life, things would be pretty boring.
We know from research (and probably our own experiences) that working towards a goal and then achieving it creates greater well-being and meaning than if something is just handed to you.
So, when you consider your dreams and goals, play this little game:
Imagine that you have achieved your goal, having overcome many obstacles.

Someone interviewing you wants to know, “How did you do that? How did you beat the odds like that?”

What would you say? Maybe something like, “I wanted it too bad to give up” or “I knew I just had to stay focused on the end goal.”

Now, use those words of wisdom to guide you as you pursue your dream.
