How does an acoustic wave (music) generate emotions within humans?

How does fluctuation in air pressure, its frequency, and a sense of rhythm generate humans to feel certain emotions? Where is the connection in between the two? Also, why does the minor scale/dissonance cause darker/serious emotions while the major scale causes brighter/positive emotions? Thanks to anyone who answers.
