Instagram Is Bad for Your MENTAL HEALTH

Mental Health professionals have found that Instagram is the worst social network for your mental health.

The Royal Society for Public Health in the UK surveyed 1,500 young people, between the ages of 14-24 about their social media habits, and the way they feel after engaging with online social networks.

According to the study, the digitally manipulated images and professionally staged photos set unrealistic expectations for our regular, everyday lives.
Another big change causing issues is Instagram's new algorithm which rearranges posts you see in your feed. Instead of showing up in chronological order, more popular accounts or promoted accounts show up more.

That means less likes and comments from your friends and more unrealistic images in your feed.
Another problem that plagues social media is lack of sleep. Some report that they wake up in the middle of the night to check out new activity or post themselves.
Now that's something I've never heard off. I usually scroll through Instagram before I go to bed, but I definitely never wake up on purpose to see what people are posting. That's just ridiculous.
On the plus side, YouTube was rated as the best social network for your mental health, providing a venue for positive self-expression.
